Whatever it is you are struggling with right now, you aren’t alone, and I am confident that counseling can help you feel better because I have seen it work its magic time and time again.

For example, if it’s anxiety that you experience, you can learn what causes your anxiety. You can learn to slow down your heart beat, control your breathing, and change your thoughts. Ultimately you can gain some control. Just because you experience anxious thoughts or feelings, this does not mean you cannot enjoy life. You can still meet new people and develop new relationships, you can enjoy going to a party without fear of what people are thinking about you, you can go into a public place….alone….and be ok. I want you to know that you are not at the mercy of your anxiety…this life is still yours.

If you feel sad or down, just know that sadness and grief are both normal emotions and you can learn how to determine if you are experiencing emotions that go hand and hand with your life circumstance, or whether something else is going on. Either way, you will gain knowledge about yourself and learn tools to help you along the way, effective tools that you can incorporate into your life.

There are also times in our life that we just feel “stuck.” We aren’t necessarily sad or anxious, but we are “off,” and we are aware that something is different.

Maybe you have had a big change occur, such as a move, job change, divorce, etc. Maybe you are considering making a big change. While many life transitions are exciting, they also produce a lot of stress within ourselves and our relationships. When these events occur in our lives, and they always do, therapy can be helpful for navigating through in ways that help us to feel like ourselves again.
